World's First Church

Jordanian archaeologists have uncovered what they believe to be the world's first church dating from 33 to 70 AD.
"We have uncovered what we believe to be the first church in the world, dating from 33 AD to 70 AD," the head of Jordan's Rihab Centre for Archaeological Studies, Abdul Qader al-Husan, told reporters according toThe Age.
He said it was uncovered under Saint Georgeous Church, which itself dates back to 230 AD, in Rihab in northern Jordan near the Syrian border.
"We have evidence to believe this church sheltered the early Christians, the 70 disciples of Jesus Christ," Husan said.
These Christians, who are described in a mosaic as "the 70 beloved by God and Divine," are said to have fled persecution in Jerusalem and founded churches in northern Jordan, Husan added.
He cited historical sources which suggest they both lived and practised religious rituals in the underground church and only left it after Christianity was embraced by Roman rulers.
The bishop deputy of the Greek Orthodox archdiocese, Archimandrite Nektarious, described the discovery as an "important milestone for Christians all around the world."
Researchers recovered pottery dating back to between the 3rd and 7th centuries, which they say suggests these first Christians and their followers lived in the area until late Roman rule.
Inside the cave there are several stone seats which are believed to have been for the clergy and a circular shaped area, thought to be the apse.
There is also a deep tunnel which is believed to have led to a water source, the archaeologist added.
Rihab is home to a total of 30 churches and Jesus and the Virgin Mary are believed to have passed through the area, Husan said.

Qureshi Family History

Quraishi (also rendered as QureshiQoraishi,KoraishiKureshy or Kureishi), (Arabic: Ù‚ریشی‎) is a family name that originates from Arabs in Saudi Arabia, particularly from the city of Mecca.
Lineage
According to traditional legends, Arab lineages allegedly originate from three groups:

* Perished Arabs (العرب البائدة): These are the ancients of whose history little is known. They include ‘Ad, Thamûd, Tasam, Jadis, Imlaq and others.

* Pure Arabs (العرب العاربة): They allegedly originated from the progeny of Ya‘rub bin Yashjub bin Qahtan bin Hud so were also called Qahtanian Arabs.

* Arabized Arabs (العرب المستعربة): They allegedly originated from the progeny of Ishmael and were also called ‘Adnanian Arabs. The Quraish are a branch of the "Arabized Arabs".

The Quraish was a branch of the Kinana, which descended from Elias bin Mudar, who descended from Adnan. After the introduction of Islam, the Quraish gained supremacy and produced the three dynasties of the Ummayads, Abbasids and Fatimides, which ruled as Caliphs.

Religion:
The majority of the Quraish tribe belong to the Sunni branch of Islam

Quraishis in South Asia

The Quraish family diaspora is spread all around the world. Due to Arab imperialism into foreign lands, the Quraish family was able to establish itself in these lands. The Quraish family exists in many parts of South Asia, particularely in Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. The descendants of Arabs who arrived with Muhammad Bin Qasim settled in South Asia.
A Ph,D thesis in this context is very imporatant reference to read from USA on the subject matter The central Asian Arabs of Afghanistan: pastoral nomadism in transition By Thomas Jefferson Barfield.

Why Facebook use Blue Color?

When you open Facebook, the first thing that you notice is the blue color it uses. Ever wondered why is Facebook so blue in Color and not upgrading its theme.

Ever since they started as 'thefacebook', Facebook has sticked with the blue color. Although major changes have been made in the Facebook theme since then, the major unchanged thing has been the blue color.
Facebook from its early days when it was known as  thefacebook
An exciting fact: In its earlier days, thefacebook.com required you to have an  .edu email id to join.

Everywhere from its login page to Facebook groups, you find only blue.
Facebook Login Page. All Blue!

The reason for this is that  Mark Zuckerberg, the young founder of Facebook is red-green color-blind and blue is the richest colour for him which he confirmed in an interview with Leo Laporte few years back.

Another important commercial factor for using blue color is the fact that most colors tend to distract the viewers. Blue on the other hand acts as a transparent background to the main content as visible to the human brain due to which most popular websites tend to use the blue color. It can easily be called a webmaster's favorite color. Blue Color is also sometimes referred to as 'Nirvana' for the brain.

All these factors make blue a prominent color on Facebook.

Why women should eat to lose weight

These days most of the people are conscious about their weight. Whenever we think about weight loss, we straight go on crash dieting, but here are some great tips from a renowned dietician Rujuta Diwekar, who has Bollywood’s star couple Kareena and Saif (as well as many others) on her client roster. According to her, planning your diet and the timing of your diet are more important than to go crash dieting.
Q: You’ve already written Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight. What was the impetus for this one?
A: I wrote this book specifically for women, when I realised that there was zero information out there. There is a terrible helplessness that women seem to have about their bodies and their hormones, and we fear rather than celebrate every stage of our life. Most women are upset by or ashamed of their bodies. Even though food is the most intimate relationship you will have, women increasingly stop feeding food to themselves and fall into this bottomless downward spiral. But there is no reason for all this.
More than that, I feel terrible that more money and education does not translate into better health for women. I feel there is an urgent need to talk about these issues rationally and communicate my knowledge. Kareena too is always on board when it comes to using the power of her celebrity to get the message out there.
Q: In this age of abundance, how can one discipline oneself to make good food choices?
A: I don’t necessarily think that more choice is a bad thing. In fact, more choices should improve our chances of eating right. Actually, our parents were more sorted about this, so it made it easier for us to eat right. Right now, what happens is that a lot of us eat out because we are tired of cooking, are in a bad mood, because the bai didn’t arrive, it’s not because we are celebrating something, which is why we went to restaurants in the past. Don’t eat out mindlessly.
Q: You advise eating dinner around 7.30 pm. How is that possible given our crazy schedules?
A: Rethink dinner – why does it always have to be seen in terms of food, TV and home? If you cannot leave the office by 7.30 pm, then figure out a way to get dinner to you at office. If you are a successful executive, then problem solve the question of how to eat dinner on time as well.
Q: How does one deal with the conflicting advice dished out about diets and food?
A: I think there is a real need to value our native wisdom when it comes to cooking and celebrate the fact that cooking styles in India are so different. Every religion has a food prayer, and that’s just to tell you bakwaas band karo, theek se khao. As for nutrition and diet advice, most of it comes from the West and it is making us not value the foods that we have. The weight loss industry wants us to be confused and ill informed. Also, advice is always going to be conflicting, but remember, your stomach will tell you the truth.
Q: As a woman, how does one tackle the situation if your husband and kids won’t cooperate with your efforts to eat healthily?
A: Don’t coerce them. Lead by example, do it guilt-free. As a woman, your biggest responsibility is to yourself. Once your family sees the change in your energy levels, everything will change.
Q: Any famous last words?
A: Too many of us are overworked, tired and undernourished, and need to take a break. Remember that we do better when we are at peace. And don’t judge food by its calorie count. We say age is not a number, so why is food a number? Finally, ensure your diet takes into account your genes, geography, lifestyle, emotional status, fitness history, likes, dislikes, festivals, kitchen.
Q: At a restaurant...
A: Choose wisely
  • Pick items off an a la carte menu rather than a buffet.
  • Eat fresh food: Pick a restaurant that features a lot of fresh food and food made healthily.
  • Make decisions before you go out: Stick to your choices when you place your order.
  • Relish your food: When you stuff yourself, you have a sensory overload, which generally results in a bad stomach or you feeling sick.
  • Decide if you are going to eat dessert: Don’t go from salads to desserts. Your stomach has not got its due of carbs, proteins, etc. Ideally, you should eat dessert two hours after a meal.

Cracking your knuckles does not actually hurt your bones

Cracking your knuckles does not actually hurt your bones or cause arthritis. The sound you hear is just gas bubbles bursting.

Cracking your knuckles (or any of your joints) can have therapeutic benefits. When you crack one of your joints you are pulling the bones that are connected at the joint apart from each other. This process stimulates your tendons, relaxes your muscles, and loosens your joints. Chiropractors do this for spinal joints when your back is sore and stiff, but you can do this on your own for your knuckles, toes, knees, neck, etc.

Unfortunately, there can be too much of a good thing. Cracking your knuckles will never lead to arthritis (despite what your mom keeps telling you), but scientists have discovered that it can cause tissue damage in the affected joints. Knuckle-cracking pulls your finger bones apart which stretches your ligaments. Too much stretching of your ligaments will cause damage to your fingers akin to the arm injuries sustained by a baseball pitcher who throws too many pitches. In addition to making your hand really sore, this ligament damage can also result in reduced grip strength.

How does this work? Your joints, the places in your body where you can bend, are where your bones intersect and are held together by ligaments. These joints are surrounded by a liquid called synovial fluid. When you stretch your ligaments by pulling the bones apart to crack your knuckles a gas in the synovial fluid escapes and turns into a bubble. This process is called cavitation. Cavitation ends when the bubble eventually bursts, producing that popping sound we know and love. After that, your joints won't be able to crack for another 25-30 minutes while the gas gets reabsorbed into the synovial fluid.
